Don’t blame me - I bought an American-made, Very Low Emission Toyota!

Camry. Consistently gets 23 MPG in city driving even with a/c. I wanted a hybrid Camry, but it didn’t come out until the year after my 14-year-old Camry got too cranky to drive, naturally. I want to replace our 10-year-old Toyota minivan with a hybrid, and they have two models in Japan and have for years, but have never brought them over here, dadgummit!

Amazing cars. A few years ago I heard that the most popular car to steal was the early 90s Camry (our old one), because over 80% of them were still on the road, and they needed parts! The only reason we gave up ours was because it got cranky in wet weather – which is frequently in the Boston area – and the mechanic I went to (a great guy) said there was no way he could guarantee he could find which of the wires and whatnot were the ones responsible. He said he once spent a week trying to do that on someone else’s car, and it got better but not fixed. So we got another Camry.
