    Well, they were a church school, and so, they needed to behave a little better than they did. But, after the fact,what good did it do to whine? They should have stopped that game at half-time, and said: Good Game!

    IIRC, there is no “mercy rule” in HS sports, so there is no way to stop the game.

    That said, the coach could have shown mercy and pulled the starters well before the 4th quarter

    “Succeeding” in school sports should mean playing a good game, win or lose (though win is better).

    Humiliating an opponent to this degree is only one notch on the sportsmanship scale above knocking them unconscious with cudgels when they’re not looking.

    And that goes for every game, every sport, male or female, every time a story like this pops up in the news.

    What would just make a lot of people’s day is to find out that these power teams at religious schools were using steroids.
