Someone once posited that you can prove that a dog doesn’t know his or her name is a name by saying it accusingly when they are doing nothing wrong. So I went to the other room, said “Dad” accusingly (I am an adult) and he looked confused and guilty. I explained the experiment. And tried it on my assistance dog. Same look.
