The Democrats tried this in 2020. They only won because Big Tech and Big Media were successful in utterly smearing the opposition. Too successful, in fact, for Big Media. The “Trump Bump” is over and their ratings tanked to record lows. Instead of adapting to the new zeitgeist they’re too busy wasting time and money trying to smear the opposition again. Only it’s backfiring spectacularly; people reporting out of their basements on shoestring budgets have better engagement and profit margins.
