I was a band geek in college. A formal wear rental place was selling off their old tuxedos at a huge discount, so a bunch of us went down there. I told the guy (in jest) that I wanted the right sleeve two inches longer because I play the trombone and he thought I was serious. He told me that’s common among symphony musicians. String bass players get the left sleeve hemmed longer.
