Good point AKHenderson. Actually, the first to think “outside bun/bread/…” was Hank Ketcham with a Dennis The Menace panel, where Dennis tells his mum “haven’t you ever seen a chocolate cake sandwich before?”!

I’ve seen pizza with ziti on it before, but never lasagna… I think this needs some experimenting.

Garfield made a sandwich with two slices of pizza as the “bread” and lasagna in the middle. Garfield’s two favorite foods together as one. Garfield known to likes Italian foods like lasagna and pizza a lot.

That actually would be pretty messy. Better to eat it in a bowl.
