I think this is a good discussion point. Garfield has hurt Odie several times and yet he will always show affection on blind devotion to Jon and Garfield. We can’t fault Odie, the victim, for Garfield’s violence. But at what point should Jon understand Odie is suffering by always forgiving Garfield? Should a responsible pet owner not realize that the pets are not compatible? Jon needs to really step up to provide a safer environment for his pets.
