Don’t knock it….Thanks to facebook, I’ve reconnected with old friends from school, and even found my soulmate… someone I hadn’t seen for 24 years! And we’re still going strong! There are inconvenients, of course, but in my case WELL worth it.
JDG - I got ‘em BOTH … until the past week; - I use Netscape 9.0.0.6 for a browser (I like it, it works, no probs!)
Logged into “SPACEbook” via Netscape and was prompt “told” I have to change my browser (update to Firefox), so THEY can work on MY computer! — I’d tried “fox” before and HATED it! … went on SPACEbook with I/E and CANCELLED my pages!
I have found a bunch of old friends through Facebook. Plus, I get to keep in contact with some from all over the world. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Facebook doesn’t have to take a lot of time. I restrict it to people who really are friends, have all notifications turned ott, and don’t use applications, other than the basic default ones. I get on, read my news feed & status update pages, make a few comments, post anything in my own life worth mentioning, and I’m done.
I have not done facebook and who do I know the other person just because they say there someone you knew or went to school with that is way too long ago. And for gocomics we here have to do a virus scan all the time whomever types in is allowing virus to infect this computer.
I tired twitter couldn’t get much from it.
For some of the people still working where do you find the time? I work pt trying for full time and wrong time of year before Christmas.
I agree with harebell Val let your daughter help. Seems kids know more makes us adults look not smart.
I got Facebook, but I’m about to dump it. I just don’t like the exhibitionist/stalker dynamic. I have a sister in law who uses it to “monitor” her kids and nieces/nephews. They think it’s creepy. I’ve gotta agree.
Facebook is wonderful. I’ve connected with old friends and even found the twins my daughter gave up 22 years ago.
and I always use Firefox, or Safari. But I find Firefox the better of the two.

Val, not “No, I need to learn,” but rather, “Walk me through it.”!

JDG, tried Opera or Chrome (if you’re on a Windows machine)?
hildigunnurr Premium Member over 14 years ago
no, I meant Sargenumbers, not JDG! Facebook works fine on both, and you might like them better than Firefox.
