No no no that was Clinton that they were trying to impeach before he ever took office and … well …   Come to think of it, you can’t seem to teach an old elephant new tricks.

Rush’s Reich is already blaming him for Boy George’s recession, depression or as I like to call it repression.

Seems to me the last impeachment made impeachment less palatable even in a situation that calls for it.

I just re re-read the “Clinton years” chapter of my university textbook (Histoire des États-Unis(B. Vincent)). I just went through the part about the Lewinsky scandal and it’s even lower, dumber than I remember (I was thirteen at the time and it is one of the first news events I closely followed on tv.)

I recall that there were two other major conflicts those days; Operation Desert Fox in Iraq and the airstrikes on Kosovo. According to that book, Milosevic and Saddam Hussein made their moves because they thought the presidents had his hands too full with his private life to deal with them so they could do whatever they wanted.

We will never know what went through their minds, but one thing is sure; the GOP and Ken Starr were so busy trying to hang Clinton to the nearest tree that they didn’t realised that they were wrecking their own nation’s status in the World and therefore, its power with that joke. The Zealot inquisitors indirectly caused two world crisis over low-grade tabloid material, all because of their urge to govern other people’s beds and dumb partisanship.

^ Must be some Canadian leftist revisionist author’s opinions, Clinton was impeached for lying to a Grand Jury, not for BJs in the Oval Office…. which was even worse if you ask me.. think of all the decisions made in that room that cost the Lives of hundreds of thousands Americans and Clinton was getting BJs from an intern old enough to be his daughter in the same room..with his wife in the next room…

Ken Starr was an “Independent Prosecutor” doing his job, which is to follow the evidence to where ever it leads..

For your info, if a private citizen in America is caught lying to a Grand Jury , He/She’ll be thrown in jail before you can say “cheese”…

As far as this ‘toon, your typical Liberal trying to lay cover for the inexperienced “Community organizer” in case the shite hits the fan…..

Mach if being with an intern will help the President relax and make clear headed decisions such as not invading a country that didn’t attack us then I say let him be with that intern.

Mach; Yup, but he was brought before the grand jury in question for what?

The author in question is french (therefore, he can’t be right on anything according to you guys. In other circumstances, we call that racism). http://www.rotten.com/library/culture/american-francophobia/

Also, I think comparing that guy to fellows who think the Shoah never took place is, at best, far fetched.

There must be a reason why Slobo and Sadam made their move at that time. I think that’s the reason.

But even if it was not, it remains that the GOP was so preoccupied whith humiliating a guy that they didn’t realized it was their country that they were humiliating before the entire world.

    Party First!

Anyone who believes that Clinton’s impeachment was about lying to a Grand jury - whether or not he did - should make a sky-colour check to determine just which fantasy world he’s living in.   Clinton’s impeachment - like everything else the Republicans pulled - was strictly political.

Machado … True blue at what ever the reality. PS The impeachment proceedings were little more than kangaroo-court ,”let’s make up and change the rules to suit our needs”.

“Lying to a grand jury” sounds a lot worse than it is. What was he lying about? Oh, yeah, BJ in the White House. Get real - the original investigation was into Whitewater, remember? And when that turned up NOTHING, nil, zip, zero, Starr started trolling for dirt. It was a very clever political maneuver that crippled the entire administration. Compare to Bush, who lied about WMDs to get us into war - he should have been impeached, tarred and feathered, and run out of the country on a rail.

Clinton shouldn’t have lied, true. But Clinton should NEVER HAVE BEEN IN THAT JOKE OF A CASE ANYWAY!

Let’s unleash Ken Starr on an unlimited mission to destroy Bubba. Oh Whitewater didn’t pan out… let’s look at something else… oh that’s a dead end too… ad infinitum.

I’m not saying the guy is squeeky clean but for F*&$ sake, this is NOT a function of gov’t!
