Question: what in the heck is the first panel talking about?All I remember from Rush’s football commentary days is the Donovan McNabb brouhaha. I don’t remember hearing about him going off-topic on the show.
McGehee, I’m sorry, but I must disagree with you. Rush’s RIGHT to pursue an NFL franchise is stated in the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence (‘pursuit of happiness’). Note that it does not guarantee achievement of happiness, nor does owning an NFL franchise mean happiness (ask Daniel Snyder how it’s working out).
Of course, an NFL owner also is entitled to the same right; and it could be argued also conveys a responsibility to use that ownership wisely. One aspect of that is to ensure any new owner will not tarnish the NFL’s reputation. And accepting a unrepentant drug user as an owner could certainly be construed as undesirable.
They had no problem with “accepting an unrepentant drug user.” They knew that well before they invited him in. What killed the deal was the false quotes displayed on TV and in the blogs, that everyone knew were false and then afterward said, “Oh, gee…you mean he didn’t say those things? Gosh, we’re sooo sorry!”
I never thought I’d be defending RL, he’s an egotistical loudmouth, but we need to be fair. The invite came in full knowledge of everything except what the media were going to pull out of their…hats, I suppose.
People weren’t up in arms because of blogs. They’re up in arms before for every football fan who thinks that Rush Limbaugh is God, there’s a football fan who wants no part of a team associated with his hate-spewing, lying backside. No business wants to go out of its way to PO the customers.

Well, I’ve seen the Constitution, they keep it in a controlled environment behind heavy glass and sink it into a big vault when not on display.
Rush Limbough? I wouldn’t warn him to tie his shoe laces so he wouldn’t trip. ( I wonder, does he hire a guy to do that? )
