Great job Pat Oliphant - you just insulted millions of people around the world and throughout history who have done nothing to deserve such disrespect except engage in a practice that Christians for thousands of years have been doing.

You have directly insulted, not only us but the very patriarchs of Christianity; the apostles and even Mary the mother of Jesus, all of whom initially experienced “speaking in tongues” as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 2.

For the record, we believe that “speaking in tongues” is an active expression of God living and moving in us, empowering us to lead lives that are full of the “fruit of the Spirit.” This “fruit” is “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.”

Surely, it is not against the law or against any normal person’s belief system, or even any society’s for that matter, to try and live such a lifestyle.

For a group of people who are supposed to be liberal and teach tolerance of different views, it is hypocritical to not realize your own bias by drawing, profiting from, and finding pleasure in, cartoons insulting millions of decent people.

BenSanders said it best…”You have directly insulted, not only us but the very patriarchs of Christianity; the apostles and even Mary the mother of Jesus, all of whom initially experienced “speaking in tongues” as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 2.” However, while it is your right–your freedom, I feel that in doing so you have insulted the Almighty and that is NOT a small thing. When will all of those who claim to be “accepting” of whomever and whatever–others’ views–stop being hypocritical? Perhaps we all need to examine our own self before we try to criticize or make fun of something from another that we dislike or disagree with.

This cartoon is very disturbing! Please be very careful, Mr. Oliphant. I will not reiterate what has been said, but I will pray for you that you will use the talents with which you have been blessed in a better way. I am a Bible believing, tongue-talking, born again, believer in the liberated power of Jesus Name. The Pentecostal experience is definitely real and whether or not Ms. Palin has experienced it, I have no personal knowledge. However, please be careful of the manner in which you speak in your cartoons and try to show the same respect to Pentecostals that you would like to be shown.

Ahem, I think you guys are confusing ‘speaking in tongues’ with spouting gibberish. The Apostles were moved by the Holy Spirit to speak in KNOWN LANGUAGES to native speakers on those languages. The Apostles were told they would be able to do this when the need came about. They did not spout gibberish in hopes that people would be able to somehow understand it.

Please don’t think that spouting gibberish is akin to the mighty and noble work the Apostles did for Yeshua Meshiach.

    Mr. Oliphant

To tell the truth, I am outraged at this comic. This is in as poor taste as some of the smear tactcs we have seen in the campagin season. I find this comic offensive. We should have more of an outcry from the Christian world. Yet, most Christians are passive and wouldn’t waste there time on an outcry. Thank God for your freedom of speech and the press. I would dare say, if you were making fun of muslims it would be a world wide out cry. This is no different that the comment by the left “Jesus was a community organizer and Pilate was a governor.” It is sad that is okay to speak evil of the Christian faith, when other religons would not tolerate such bigotry.

Oliphant, Let me be as loving as possible…this is utter blasphemy against a holy and righteous God, who you will have to one day give an account (Heb. 9:27)

How will you justify yourself? These sycophants below and who read the Post will be powerless to help you.

But, as scripture predicts, there are people like you who mock what you clearly do not understand. God will one day judge your awful heart; it will be a terrible day for you. Repent.

Amazing that you would publish a cartoon that takes a deliberate stab at a branch of Christianity. We all know that you would not do the same to insult Islam or Judaism, but feel no such restraint to insult the millions of Christians that do in fact believe in speaking in tongues, as noted in the Bible. It is as simple as this- you should be ashamed of yourself.

As an artist, I am not surprised by the complete blasphemy of this cartoon. Why is it that creative people often are the most nihilistic and vile? They do not recognize the Source of their talents nor do they give God The Creator glory and thanks for the creativity He has bestowed upon them.

This kind of debased attack is so typical of the Left. A real intelligent perspective of where all of this is leading completely escapes these mockers. “Your anagrams are showing, Mr. Oliphant!”

You are a “useful idiot” irresponsibly using our sacred freedom of expression as a platform to attack that very freedom by unwittingly usherering in a Socialist-Marxist regime that would crush all dissent. History is full of governments that came to power using deceived elites…communist gulags and Nazi concentration camps filled with millions of Jews, Christians, and (gasp!)creative people.

This cartoon is yet another sign of the times and is clearly spoken of in Scripture about this time in history we are all a part of….This is simply a reflection of the levels of moral bankruptcy, perversity, and depravity our “politically correct” and “tolerant” counter-culture elites are willing to go to force the masses into their world view. Perhaps an Obama administration would bring a shot of reality to these deceived elites. Who ya gonna blame once Mr. Bush is gone from office? Sarah Palin? Please….

Like a malignancy on the body politic, all of the growing fronts of the Left birthed in the “radical” 60’s revolution that became cultural mainstream is finally seriously about to seize governmental power as a ruling totalitarian oligarchy beyond the reach of the average citizen stiffling all opposition. Now in our time of uncertainty and big-government entitlement breakdown…comes a “dark horse mystery man” to seize power during this election cycle of weak opposition, ignorance, apathy and deception. Mr. Oliphant, what kind of mockery can we expect to see from you of Obama? Will you have the freedom you currently enjoy to do so?

Okay, people. It’s just a political cartoon. It’s supposed to be a joke, not an expression of one’s beliefs or a stab at anyone’s religion. Don’t be “careful”, Mr. Oliphant. Don’t stop offending people. There are some people out there who know that it’s just a joke.
