People are naturally poetic. Just as they’re naturally musical. What we learn in school is the accumulated material and knowledge of the previous generations, upon which we build. Without it, we’d still be doing poetry and music – just different.

I remember the Encyclopaedia Britannica defining poetry as something like: the part removed when the translation is complete.
