Sadly this is true…. I started school in ’86 and even in such a short time I have seen so much ruined and become taboo its depressing

so – they’re instead putting on a musical where a girl is made fun of for being a virgin. A girl who caves to peer pressure so a guy will like her. (And I LIKE “Grease”)

Political correctness is in the eye of the beholder. There are those who believe that Christian Sharia is politically correct….

Which raises the question: Whose rights get enforced at the expense of who else’s? And who decides this? But to be honest, having a holiday show is not a right. Receiving an education is. On the other hand, Dickens’ Christmas Carol is hardly religious. Furthermore, most schools are pretty lax – I’ve gone to a lot of school concerts in the past few years, and I assure you, I’ve heard plenty of religious-themed songs sung by the school choir. I just get sick and tired of all these “They’re taking away our rights” whiners. Look back at our history, and you’ll see how few rights most people had.

With the flesh coloring of the strip, Teena is already a ‘Pink Lady’

The only time I remember the teacher having us bow our heads and praying – and everyone joined in – was the day President Kennedy was shot. Otherwise we never had any “compulsory” prayer.

How such things as Christmas pageants constitute government-sponsored prayer has never been explained to me in a way that makes sense. But – it is what it is today. Oh – and suspensions do happen for praying in school. And there are fresh lawsuits often enough for any kind of prayer at all.

My religious right is that if something offends my beliefs or lack there of allows me to walk away and ignore it. If you don’t like something, just leave.

Can’t go wrong there. We can learn from each other’s traditions. I liked “Exodus” and “Fiddler on the Roof”.
