Mousie has it right! Newspapers are shrinking from broadside to tabloid, to nothing but a faint buzz of electrical ons and offs….

Newspapers only cost more if you buy them, and I don’t figger most of them have been worth 2 cents for the last 10 years.

I think cmwulf is very cleverly and correctly commenting on the zig zag design on the pot, holding the bamboo plant.

for sure , for sure, goodbuddy! I saved a buncha newspapers from the sixties , notably glenn’s orbit in ‘62 and the first moonwalk in ‘69—-these huge newspapers were about half again as wide as today’s newspapers—gradually, like the glaciers, inch by inch they shrank and the thickness —those old newspapers were twice as thick , too

The only question: when the papers vanish entirely, who will keep track of local news and write it up?

BMonk, based on how things are going in one place I know, bloggers will have to take up the slack. Friend of mine told me about one such in his town who is doing his best to hold the city council’s feet to the fire while the local paper reprints wire stories and acts like nothing else matters.

At least the “peanut” plant isn’t as sad as the Christmas Tree.

INCREDIBLE art! This rivals the greats from (one of the many) golden eras. It is certainly as good as Walt kelly’s but I think it is on a par with Hogarth’s “Tarzan” panels. What I especially like is the little twists of humor (the “Peanut” plant - the Dish - the newspaper landing where it is supposed to go instead of on the roof)) and of course, my favorite dragon, Boody.

If this keeps up, you will surely be Knighted, Day-zed, and L(a)unched.
