    My father once predicted to me that man would walk on the moon someday…not during his lifetime but certainly during mine. Well, in 1969 not only was he alive but so was his mother who was already an adult when the Wright Bros. flew! From Kitty Hawk to the moon in one lifetime!

    Well, I’m holding out for a manned Mars landing before I die. Since my father recently turned 95, I figure I’ve got a good shot at it (no thanks to people like Fergus, not that Fergus is exactly a people).

    Um, except for the fact that the reason why we know about the dangers of greenhouse gasses and so on is our study of planets like Venus and Mars. And our space program - especially our remote sensing satellites - allows us to learn about the earth and how it works.
