This strip first appeared on May 23, 1989. That means that we should have until July 22 before we run out of Bloom County strips and have to start over again. (Although it seems that the Sundays are running on a twisted schedule, so the cut may arrive earlier than that, or even later if they stuff in older Sunday strips.)

Opus lives on in legend if not in new comic strips. Breathed apparently enjoys an early, comfortable retirement.

Outland and Opus were failures. I think he retired more quickly than planned.
