We need harsher prisons, because if the criminals are just gonna keep doing the crime after getting out of prison then the punishment just isn’t severe enough.
Those of us who remember Ollie North admired him for the way he humiliated the Senate democrats, for legislating their effort to protect communists in South America. Only by first defeating Senate leftists were the republicans later able to destroy communism.
I remember all that and came up with two conclusions:
1. Reagan knew what was going on and Ollie and others took the fall for it2 Reagan didn’t know what was going on and wasn’t in any way running the country, his cabinet was, the people we did not elect.
Either way really colored my view of Republicans and Reagan.
