    I am not far left…I respect the NRA for one reason: they do encourage gun safety and teach same to young ones (cynical aside: whom they hope will be devout NRA members once achieving adulthood). I do NOT respect the NRA for encouraging gun USE and proliferation. Other than a handgun to carry for personal safety and a rifle for hunting, there is not another reason for people to own, carry, and use guns. Especially not the wide variety and personal arsenals that are out there. Guns are for killing. We don’t need any more killing.
