You can say it, but it’s irrelevant to this cartoon. The issue is looking at the current crisis and the future (the latter I believe McCain and Palin have said) - and who’s talking about what to do about it. That would be Obama. McCain and Palin are instead throwing mud and allowing reprehensible behavior at their rallies, which are starting to sound like lynch mobs. I never thought I would see the day when a Senator of good reputation would allow people at his rallies to call a colleague “terrorist” let alone let the phrase “kill him!” pass uncommented upon.
Dunno. Obama quickly acknowledged that McCain had spoken up properly – good for him.
Current polls suggest the tactic isn’t working, and as David Gergen commented on Colbert, this is not what McCain has been about: “he’s better than that.” I hope so.

Should say something about Franks and Dodd blocking oversight of Fred and Fannie that caused all this!

Seems like Johnny was repentin’ a little bit tonight.
I wonder if it’s ‘cause he’s been workin’ this tactic, or ‘cause the tactic’s not workin’?
