I’ve always wondered: What is a “buttal” and why does it need to be done over? So today I looked it up:
- A boundary. (obsolete)
- A boundary marker. (obsolete)
- The speech act of refuting by offering a contrary contention or argument that does not actually relate to the original argument; a non-rebuttal; (in propaganda) a dog-track rabbit.
