sorry Fred, Jock is a lover not a biter!

I know that’s what basset were bred for, but did you really want to catch that rabbit? What would you have done with it if you had? Don’t be upset with Jock. He can’t help it. You get winded. running long distances. Each of us has our limitations.

Jock knows better. Those rabbits can be mean little critters.

I don’t like seeing Fred with that mean look on his face.

Fred! What got into you? You should be worried about your friend instead of being angry with him. Jock certainly hasn’t got this stich in his side on purpose. Now, be a nice friend and lay down besides Jock till he recovers. And, if he doesn’t, go and get Angus to fetch Jock and take him to the vet.

I remember when Boss Bailey (retired racing greyhound) saw his first real rabbit. Stalking must be instinctive, as is running for the blackberry bramble in rabbits.
