There must be a mistake. I called the number on government paperwork & instead of computerized voicemail runaround, the bureaucrat answered her own phone on the first ring. Then she didn’t even ask me to hold.
I worked on a second-level Help Desk for a while. We were the people who got the forwarded calls that the first-level couldn’t handle… after a while, our customers found our direct telephone number so they skipped first-level and called us directly…
Then management took away our access to application management tools, so we had to call somebody else to do functions we used to do ourselves. Those others were difficult to contact and work with – a sweatshop in India. Because customers complained about that setup, management “fixed” it by changing our name to Service Desk. That’s all.
