There was a children’s cartoon program which was probably the first “interactive” televised entertainment. Parents were supposed to buy plastic sheeting and a special pen so children could draw a bridge, staircase or other appropriate item over the screen so W i n k y D i n k could utilize them in the cartoon.
Of course, children quickly exhausted the supply of sheets and pens and began drawing directly on the screen, sometimes with indelible markers! Yikes!
