We’d seen bison (the animals called buffalo) in zoos in Kansas when I was little. Moved to Iowa where I was informed I couldn’t have seen them – they were extinct.
The American Indians are truly forgotten. Never hear of repartitions to them for the land we stole and the life we took, shame on us. The other repartitions should start with the people who sold their ancestors, like anything today, if it’s for sell, someone will buy it. So shame on us in many many ways.
Alas, the great American bison had outlived their time. With the US western expansion both the buffalo and nomadic Indian tribes were now a thing of the past. The bison took down many multiples of trees every year, trees that would necessary for settlers to use in building their homes and barns. And as the telegraph spanned the nation, roaming herds of bison taking down telegraph poles just couldn’t be allowed. So, the buffalo had to go.

They killed the Buffalo to starve the Indians.

There used to be 30 million buffalos and now there are 30 million cows. Net zero change in methane.

And now that the American Buffalo is off the endangered species list, it’s happening all over again!!

Once the passenger pigeon was in such numbers that the flocks could blot out the sun. Now none are around to tell their sob story.

Clouds of dust that blot out the sun, a.k.a, POLLUTION.
They did the right thing, killing all those buffaloes. The Earth is now saved.

They stole the land from the woolly mammoths, so they got what was coming to them.

And they succeeded in the goal, besides the U.S. Army slaughtering the natives in their sleeping camps. And who is it that deserves reparations?

Bison. Not buffalo.

Heard there are farms that are bringing the buffalo back from the danger of extinction. Slow goings, but there IS progress. Man, I hope that’s true…

North America has bison and not buffalo.
