At least Gus is up front about not being able to pay for his meal. Though the audacity of the guy to even ask Brutus out knowing he was broke and then own up to it is a bit odd. No doubt Gus thinks Brutus being Bossman’s right hand man makes him more highly paid.
In an editorial cartoon yesterday some kids ended up flipping a debit card to start a game because they didn’t know what a coin is. Guess money is no object to them, either.
Hope he’s a good friend cause I would never ever say that to a former friend. I say former as I wouldn’t want to have a friend who would impose on me in that way if he was serious. However, maybe Gus, like myself puts all his meals on credit cards to get the rebates and points or maybe he just likes to joke around, but the expression on Brutus isn’t a laughing one…..

I’d buy him lunch. Never know when you’re going to need a friend.

How about a nice sidewalk cafe? It’s easier to dine and dash when you’re already outside.

Thanks Gus but I’ve been on a diet. I eat breakfast and dinner. Maybe later when you can take us out?

Poor Brutus, people coming up with ideas of how he should spend his lunch allowance on them.

How about a relaxing lunch hour on a park bench. Preferably somewhere that Vebblefester can see them. Employees relaxing would ruin his lunch.

If they hit the diner on the right day, Gus won’t ask again.
