I found nothing to celebrate in Kamalalalala’s visit to an abortion clinic. We can debate whether abortion should be legal. We can debate whether it is moral. We even discuss whether this an issue best left to the preganant woman, maybe the father, and thei doctor. But to actively support it, promote it, and encourage it is beyond my comprehension. Democrats are not telling a woman she has to have an abortion. It is a gut-wrenching decision that should be left to the woman, her doctor, and whoever else she wants as a counselor. Conservatives want to take away a woman’s sovereignty over her own body and uterus and make it the property of the State.

A Nationwide ban on abortion is on the agenda of Republicans. The protections that individual states have enacted will be meaningless, the SCOTUS will wash them away with a ruling. Anyone doubting this eventuality need only remember how a handful of Justices eliminated Roe and not a vote of the People. But first, Republicans need the Authoritarian Trump back in power.
