    What scale was that on?

911 on a scale from one to a thousand could be considered pretty good

Which wasn’t easy. You couldn’t dial since dials hadn’t been invented yet, and his assistant was on the only other phone that existed and had no idea what Bell meant when he shouted, “911!”

Bell was busy running to the patent office because the thieving Thomas Edison was behind him by a few hours.

They had 911 back then? I think your memory is beginning to fail, Broomie.

Mark Twain had the first telephone line in Hartford Connecticut. He used it almost every day to call the local exchange just to complain about the contraption.

I’m watching an old movie titled You Can’t Take It With You. I think it applies to some of the comments here, don’t take things so literally and seriously, enjoy them for what they are.

He was concerned that she might start a competing phone service, Ma Bell.

Bell did not have a dial phone which was not patented until 1892. His first call was reportedly after he spilled some battery acid on himself. He called his assistant Watson (because that was his name) and said, “Come here, Watson. I need you.”

So it really was a 911-type call.
