    They are already celibate (unmarried). The word he wants is chaste or chastity which means no fooling around. The language problem here is that since unmarried folk are not supposed to fool around (according to Biblical rules), they are by definition chaste. Too many folks have taken one to mean the other which is technically incorrect. [Pedantic mode off.]
