It is not impossible for a gasoline car to have autopilot. An electric car’s build and technology lends itself to autopilot easier than a gasoline car, so apparently that is why autopilot is chiefly found on electric cars.
IMO (for what that is worth), autopilot is not a high priority accessory. I don’t mind car companies trying to develop it – although I think they’re selling their systems to the public prematurely. But electric cars have higher-priority issues where I’d prefer those car companies invest more time and resources, instead of autopilot.
