Yup, sounds like the separation process the last time I was in a computer industry layoff. I never received the speech because my boss was escorted out while I was still laying off the people in my team so I had to lay myself off.

Well, they got a pen as severance pay. I’ve left jobs where I basically got a poke in the eye and a kick in the pants as my parting gifts.
Does anyone else remember those halcyon days when “Human Relations” was actually occasionally helpful to employees? Now they just do the hatchet jobs.
