Posted this late the other day. Sorry for the repost. Thanks to [Unnamed Reader – 563f4c] and Gil-doh! for their information about Max Schmeling and Melitta Schenk Gräfin von Stauffenberg. I’ve learned a lot about the history of Gil Thorp and a lot of other stuff to. The gang here is very witty and have a lot of funny stuff to say. Anyone else thinking that Inma’s dad is going to be totally aghast at what his daughter’s being a wrestler? Not to mention how Gil groping her is going to go over. And if dad’s a villian, who else is expecting a beard on him?

Um, if the ref should be doing anything, it’s calling an illegal hold on Inma. At least that was illegal when I wrestled in school. Admittedly, that was long enough ago that we were in caves lit with torches.

Wow, Inma must be headed to States if she is racking up points that quickly. I hope the match ended between P2 and P3, otherwise she’s probably getting penalized for wandering into the stands. And speaking of wandering, Mopped Up Thorp often does some wandering, but it eventually gets to the point.

Okay Harry, rules update for Wrestling:1: She has the arm bar past the 90 degree angle which is illegal.2. 3 points is only awarded to a wrestler when they have the opponents back (Back Points) toward the Mat. The Wrestler in order to pin the other wrestler must get both shoulders down on the mat simultaneously. If not, and the bottom wrestler is able to stop being put with both (their, she, he, whatever) shoulders the wrestler who is in control is awarded 3 points.There are no other 3 point situations.In this case, the wrestler is flat on the mat and their are no Back Points.

Also, throwing your arms in the air after a Match is a sign of poor Sportsmanship. Coach would have me running laps for doing this to an opponent. You shake hands and say Good Match.

OK, I had to Google it because everyone else seems to know this;

Saw this yesterday, and I wondered: What am I missing, here? There’s 43 seconds left in the first period, and Inma is ahead, 7-0? Why is she celebrating as though she’s already won?! Did she get a Major or Superior Decision? What is she doing in the stands already? How is she allowed to crouch on her opponent’s back while applying an extremely obvious hammerlock?! Clue me in….
