Mother Gargoyle is the dry rot of their relationship. You don’t always see her but the damage is ever present.

Brutus makes me realize how lucky I was. My mother-in-law thought I could do no wrong. It annoyed my wife that each visit I was greeted with compliments, while she got, “You look tired dear.”

I would also think that another perfect time of the year to refresh things would be the first days of spring when birds are in the air and building their nests, and bees are spreading their pollen around flowers to make the new years’ honey.
