I’ve never understood kids being creeped out by their parents’ shows of affection. My parents were often (appropriately) affectionate in front of us kids, and it never bothered us. As a matter of fact, I can’t even remember my father calling my mother by her name: it was always “Honey” or “Sweetheart” or somesuch. All that pays off, as my parents will be celebrating their 65th anniversary this fall.
I would not know…my father ran off when I was 5.. no man was in my life.in fact he departed when my brother was 3 days old..so I have NO knowledge OR feeling of this subject.
