Befriending is more of a sincere relationship than mindlessly clicking ‘friend’. As is a handwritten note or heart-felt letter. Even the postage stamp can be meaningful.
Some of the best friends I’ve ever had I met via social media. Nope, none of them lived geographically close to me, and most of them lived thousands of miles away. But, that gave us an excuse to travel and meet up with each other. So then, had I ‘just’ made friends with people within my own zip code, life would be a lot less interesting.

It’s A Small World, And Social Media Somehow Makes It Smaller From Not Always Right :
I added someone completely at random on my Facebook because she had made a lot of thought-inspiring comments on a number of posts I had seen.
I had her on my friends list for the better part of six months or so before we had this conversation one day.
Friend: “Well, my girlfriend [Girlfriend] said…”
Me: “That’s funny… I have a sister named [Girlfriend].”
Friend: “Haha! Does she live in New York City?”
Me: “Actually, she does.”
It turned out IT ACTUALLY WAS MY SISTER!

Pretty much the only way if one wants a bona fide relationship beyond what was for supper last night..

I rarely look at my social media accounts. I previously checked them everyday. Now sometimes once a week. And I no longer accept friend requests.

Treggie was “reaching out” to someone. We are not told whether her arm was long enough, but you can’t have everything . . .
