My husband has one of those people…me. And he’s not that old, works in IT, but can’t be bothered to look.

Oh! My! Cat! I positively, hate, loathe & despise all these “Chart” thingees you HAVE to use now, to get any results of any tests, visits, procedures, whathaveyou!!! IF I DO manage to get into my personal, private account, with my personal, private name & password, it’s all in medical jargon!!! What good does it do me, if I don’t know what it’s talking about? Fuggittabouttit all the “<” “>” stuff!!!

Hate those portals. Hate everything single thing needing a password, dual identification, QR code, etc.

I’m that “people” for my wife. I like that with the portal I can see test results within hours, request prescription renewals, etc. When it’s down though, you can do nothing.

Our doctor falls under the local hospital umbrella and has the Patient Portal. Most of the time, unless it is a request for a prescription refill, the thing is next to useless.

Since all of my information is on the portal, why do I have to fill out a 5 page form every visit?

I think they reached an accord, it’s personal contact for them.

One insurance company. Four different phone numbers to call about bills alone.

I well and truly detest these “portals”. I’ve been stuck having to use several to get my records. They were all poorly designed, and not at all very secure.

It’s supposed to be convenient but only for the company…..

Well, I guess I’m in the minority here. My mother gave me portal access, which meant that I could find out what her care team found, needed, and prescribed. That let me interpret for her and support her until she passed. A thousand times better than trying to get on phones with doctors.
