Wear your raggedy-a$$ clothes as long as the mud season lasts.

Dogs love mud almost as much as they love snow.

If only they would let themselves they could enjoy the mud season, too.

My dog is a weird one. Doesn’t love mud or water. Tolerates snow fine and doesn’t mind the cold, but rain, puddles, and mud are anathema to him.

Take your shoes off and go barefoot for a while (if its warm enough).

It beats a $125 mud bath session at a spa.

I would suggest that the decision to get muddy is up to you, and not the dog.

Well that’s what happens when you lock your inner child in a cage and “Adult” all the time.

I was visiting my mom during spring thaw one year. I thought the ct should go out and enjoy the spring weather, so I put him out the front door for a little while. No, he trotted straight around the house and came in via the pet door. He walked all the way down the hall to where I was. When he got near me, he started picking up his front paws one at a time and shaking them at me. It was muddy out there and he didn’t like it.

No snow pack and mild drought conditions here in Maryland so we skipped the mud season entirely. And as somebody who enjoys hiking, I’m not complaining one bit.

Maybe his father was a mudder? Maybe his mother was a mudder?

No if you owned a horse you’d be walking a mudder…

Out of the mud two strangers came

And caught me splitting wood in the yard,

And one of them put me off my aim

By hailing cheerily “Hit them hard!”

This is like having children… if playing in the dirt, and mud makes them happy, as it seems with this dog, let them have at it! That’s why there are showers, and bathtubs, and for severe cases, a garden hose! It’s just dirt, and mud… it will come out.
