Correlation is NOT causation. Though I can indeed make a good case for causation when the Repubnicans are involved.

Remember the crypto collapse where the wacko running the show stole billions and showered Dems with millions. Gave millions more to climate tools and other buddies of the far left.

Seems SVB did the same thing. A board stuffed with big Dem donors moved millions to far left causes. Then Biden bails out the billionaire depositors by having the rest of us pay higher bank fees.

For those that have no faith in math, science, medicine, logic, reasoning, critical thinking, objective root case analysis, etc … correlation and causation are a frightening/confusing enigma.

     The GOPPPPPPPPP

The drafting committee for the 2020 platform of the Republican Party initially decided that they didn’t want to (a) meet in person or for very long to do the actual work or (b) be perceived as lazy. So, using the pandemic as an excuse, they came up with the “brilliant” idea of just recycling their 2016 platform, changing nothing but the dates while claiming as a virtue that they stood for timeless ideas.

After a couple of weeks of ridicule, during which many commentators pointed out that the 2020 platform frequently lambasted “the current administration”, they decided to simply not have a platform at all. So what they are today is a Party without a Platform, Plan, Purpose, Principles, or Priorities, based solely on Personalities, Perfidy, and Power.

And, if you don’t like it, P on U.

“Get woke, go broke” typically refers to a situation where a company was so quick to make critical changes to their operational methods, products / services, marketing & promotional mix, or so forth that they failed to actually perform some critical task before making the switch, costing the company goodwill and perhaps some amount of money.

In this case, various reports are claiming that SVB’s head of risk assessment was so busy tending to various pet projects, including ones intended to increase diversity in hiring, that she wasn’t actually monitoring the company’s risk factors. Hence people going after it.

The self-professed “Alliance Defending Freedom” went venue shopping to find a sympathetic judge to hear their lawsuit seeking to deny women the use of mifepristone, which prompts the question of just whose freedom it is they think they’re defending.

They did something similar in 2008, by trying to lay blame for the subprime mortgage crisis on the Community Reinvestment Act, a bill that was signed by President Carter in 1977. In truth, the culprit is always the same: greed.
