Politicians will never do anything that goes against their best interests and that includes calling a kettle black or throwing stones in a glass house.
I’m still waiting to hear how those guardians of freedom, those who prevent democracy from dying in the darkness, those essential to the maintenance of our rights, didn’t discover any of this until after the guy ran twice for the same office.
Don’t know what all the fuss is about, don’t all politicians say whatever is required.. to win. It’s what’s required to get your foot in the door, once there you can say sorry.. but all is for naught if you can’t get in that first step. Mind.. Santos did stretch it a bit but then he only followed his leaders example.
The Democrats completely dropped the ball on vetting Santos, even his own opponent. They left that part to the Republicans, led by Fox News and Tulsi Gabbard. And now, Mike Ramirez.
The problem with everyone-does-it, winner-takes-all-no-matter-how, lowest-common-denominator systems … is that the lowest-common-denominator keeps going lower and lower.
Governor Asa Hutchinson, an Arkansas Republican, said Sunday that Representative-elect George Santos, a New York Republican, needs to face accountability for lying about his resumé to his constituents.

We shall see if the Republicans have any value for truth and integrity in the way they deal with George. Will he be a hero or a pariah?

So now a lying politician is a problem? C’mon. Both sides do it. Dems are sore because they lost.

I wish Democrats had enough integrity to call out the liars and thieves in their ranks. (Of course, the room would be empty afterwards).

Ramirez, doing his best to save the Republican Party from itself. Good job.

It’s too bad all of this info wasn’t ‘discovered’ until after the election, the Democrats could have won his seat.

There’s no floor in the Republican Party. You would have to dig a hole if you want to lower the bar on integrity any more.

The House could refuse to seat him. Although, that would take an act of political courage that Republicans do not have.

LYING is a BAD thing, now, Ramirez?
.
“I can’t release my tax returns because they are under audit.”
“Obama was born in Kenya.”
“I will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it.”
“It was a perfect phone call. NO quid pro quo.”
“Anyone who wants a test can get a test.”

[Insert your favorite Republican LIE here], Ramirez.
