Panel 2 reminds me of the old cartoon dog who when he gets a dog biscuit he floats into the air in appreciation!

She will return, Buckles!

You should have taken him with you, Jill, he needs the company.

Just like my father

Aww! We give my cat treats before leaving so she won’t sit at the door wailing for hours. When we get home, she eats them. We’re pretty sure she was abandoned without food for an extended period at some point before we adopted her.

Yeah, our dog won’t eat the treat until we return home. Not going to be bribed, I guess, or prefers not to eat alone.

My Boy (Avatar) would have his way to make me feel guilty when I got back, if I didn’t take him with me(which was very rare) ……. he’d be all excited when I came back and then he’d go sit with his back to me and ignore me for 15 or 20 minutes …. :(
