Science fiction story idea…. Colonists on a distant planet must contend with natives of the planet who are immensely powerful flying Apes with the technology or innate ability to fire electric shots from their fingers when attacking.

Detective story… Alcoholic former police officer who lost his badge after killing his own brother tries to make peace with himself and the world while stopping a criminal gang endangering someone he still loves who despises him.

Historical fiction… the “true” story of a legendary figure like Robin Hood, King Arthur or semi forgotten hero from the past, or invent a new legendary hero.

Ideas are the easy part. It’s writing the story that is difficult.
