I love bumble bees. They are non-aggressive but will sting if scared. For two summers, I had bumble bees living under the step in my garage. If I opened the back door and they were there, they moved to the side and let me into the garage. They always landed on the garage floor and would walk to their nest. I had a cocker at the time who was intensely curious about them. He’d sniff them all over, but they never stung. One day he came inside batting away at his ear. Took only a second for me to figure out one got hung up in his ear fur. Sure enough. I pulled it out with bare hands, held it in my hand and put it down just outside their nest. It never stung. Fred, you guys just sit and enjoy them.
I have a dog that likes to play chase with bumble bees and hornets. Perhaps some of the bumble bees and hornets also enjoy the game because often my dog becomes the chased.
