I knew a fair-skinned Irishman who had his ear amputated due to skin cancer. He played a lot of tennis without sunblock.

I once burned my ankles to a crisp at the beach. I could only wear sandals to work for a week.

Maybe if he mixed the sun lotion with water soluble green dye, he would not miss any spots. Then when ready to call it a day just just in the water and wash it off. You won’t get burned walking between the beach and the car unless you parked 10 miles away.

Well, at least it wasn’t a nude beach.

Went to a drag race and was wearing shorts. The tops of my upper legs got burnt to a crisp. Strangely that was the only place.

I remember Noxema. Mother put it on sunburns to “cool the pain.” It did nothing to help healing. Then I discovered Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion. What a difference. Noxema – peeling and pain for a week or more. VICL – pain for a day or so then healing without peeling.

I went to the beach on a very cool day. I was wearing long pants a sweatshirt and a hat. I took my shoes and socks off to wade in the surf. (the water was surprisingly warm). My feet were burned to a crisp. I couldn’t wear shoes for a week.
