Very small thing to notice, but does it look like Alice and her mom are both talking at once in that last panel?

Also, I still remember a wooden door at my old day care which had a knot on it that looked like a dog’s face

Has the Board of Health visited Blisshaven for an inspection recently? … or at least since Petey was a student there?

Madeline again has that glassyeyed look that indicates vague rememberances of hospital mix-ups.

The one at my primary school you checked for redbacks under the seat. No pipes it was a long drop.

How about the scary potty plunger?

When I was about the age of my avatar picture, there was a Woolworth’s in Littleton CO with a giant ventilation fan in the back wall. Dark, dirty, greasy, it not only looked like it could chop you up, I thought it really wanted to. Come here, little boy! I had nightmares about it.

Thankfully, at that age, there are no “jokes” on the stall walls…

Can’t be as scary as the basement bathroom at my grandparents. The concrete block walls, cement floor, and rusty faucet, and brown stained toilet. Plus the tiny window high in the wall with plants growing out of it. The one bulb on a string almost never worked so that was your only light. It was the only other bathroom in the house and the only shower. Next to the shower was an odd probably moldy pile of cheap romance novels in plastic tubs. I only remember using it once and never showered only baths at my dad’s parents house. Maybe it explains why I hated showers for so long and why my dad still enjoys baths to this day.

Does Blisshaven have a janitor? They’d really gotta look into the stain and webs.

Petey and Alice used the same bathroom? Doesn’t their school have separate boys’ and girls’ rooms?

At our one-room country school house, it was the mice we used for entertainment. We had our sticks ready and when one ran across the floor, we all screamed and ran after it. It was great. Not sure what the teacher thought about it. Don’t think we ever actually bagged a mouse either, (for those against cruelty to wildlife)

There was a pattern in the plaster on my bedroom ceiling that, to me, looked like a sheep. When I woke up in the morning it would often be the first thing I looked at. Recently I went back to my old room. The sheep was still there. It was oddly comforting

I would call your janitorial service as what the hell is going on!

Those pipes look eerily like the tube slide that comes to life. Don’t turn your back on them, Alice.

Monkeys may seem superficially more friendly than spiders, but I suspect the truth is the reverse.

Either way, somebody (Timmy Fretwork?) ought to be responsible for giving that bathroom a thorough cleaning!

Looks like a project. Where’s the broom and bright paint?
