    Petey shares his love of graham crackers with a famous inventor, Alexander Bell, who was never given a middle name. When Bell was about Petey’s age he gave himself the middle name of Graham. True story.

    Another true fact (cribbed from Wikipedia): “The graham cracker was inspired by the preaching of Sylvester Graham who was part of the 19th-century temperance movement. He believed that minimizing pleasure and stimulation of all kinds … was how God intended people to live, and that following this natural law would keep people healthy.” That’s a theology Petey can get behind.

    I ‘m having fun trying to match the parents with the kids. I thought the man in the grey suit and tie looks kind of like Marcus, and then I see Marcus down in the corner. Bingo!

    A plain graham cracker seems pretty safe for a top Picky Eater. And Miss Bliss’s condescending greeting can be easily enough overlooked and left out of the final edited version of the narrative….
