For some reason my last comment did not appear.

I have been busy planning my trip to DC and Virginia. My DC itinerary is complete, thanks to those whose suggestions helped. If anyone has more suggestions for VA, I would appreciate them. We doing Monticello, Poplar Forest, Natural Bridge, Montpelier, Mount Vernon & Williamsburg, plus possibly George Washinton and Robert E. Lee’s birthplaces. If anyone has any not to be missed suggestions, please feel free to add them, plus any restaurants in VA & DC would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

Cleo The last time I was in DC I really enjoyed going through Georgetown and seeing all the old architecture. However, I might mention that the last time I was in DC I was attending the Explorer Boy Scout President’s Convention and I was barely 18. I got to shake the President’s hand, see the Smithsonian, go on multiple tours, etc. But the best part of the visit for me was Georgetown - even after shaking Gerald Ford’s hand, go figure!

Joy - Yes indeed, I did mean to add the word where. LOL

JFri - Oh, oh, I dread to think what we will be coming home to. Booker bottles covering the lawn, road runner feathers in the hot tub, cigar burns on the counters, Hymenoxis strapped to a broom (sweep, sweep) and the pirate & Joy abducting my neighbors in an alcoholic cannonball demolition from mid-lake. Sure, I can’t see any negatives with the scenario.

I haven’t really explored Georgetown, I have just been there to go out to dinner. It did look like a nice area of DC,with some history and I know it is a favored area for having a house.

Hi all. I couldn’t get on sooner. The internet kicked me off last night and wouldn’t let me back on until a short time ago. I’ve had to go the whole day [nearly] without my toon fix. I may need a BIG mug of DocToons nuclear mix, even though I don’t drink coffee. Tabby I hope youre feeling better.Take care of yourself. You are too important to the tribe and everyone else not to. I’m getting ready for my short three day retreat. I can’t imagine planning for three weeks, cleo. For three days, I want to pack the apartment up to go. LOL

But shorts, jeans and T-shirts will have to do. After all, this is a retreat for seminarians. We’ll be in chapel or singing around a campfire mostly. LOL

We have the largest incoming class ever- about 60. My year (last year) was only 25 or so.

DRY We have two washers and two dryers for six floors of mainly families. They were both taken when I went down first. I finished my laundry at 10:00p.m.

I have to go to bed now.

I have a meeting with the Priest who will be supervising my placement tomorrow at 10:00a.m., then I have three more appointments, all at different places. If I’m lucky, I’ll be finished for our barbeque at the college at 5:30p.m.
