Holding Trump accountable for his words and deeds would mean that ANYONE could be held accountable for what they say or do, even republican politicians.

Judging by the looks of “that” Jury it will be a fair trial and real justice will be done this time.

To avoid having to defend Trump’s indefensible conduct, many Republicans are taking refuge in the argument that it’s unconstitutional to impeach a president who has already left office. This is simply untrue, as more than 150 legal scholars — including a co-founder of the Federalist Society! — point out. “In 1876,” they note, “Secretary of War William Belknap tried to avoid impeachment and its consequences by resigning minutes before the House voted on his impeachment. The House impeached him anyway, and the Senate concluded that it had the power to try, convict, and disqualify former officers.”

That’s O.K., since the Attorney General of The Southern District of New York will then get his fat ass into court, and SHE won’t let him off with a slap on the wrist!

I’m thinking of LBJ, when he had a chance to roll back the Vietnam aggression and missed it.

The GOP has a chance to get off their knees and stand up. They could clean up the t$$$p mess, but they won’t.

[I know, the situations are completely different. What I’m saying is this, when you have a choice, and you take the wrong turn, it can come back and destroy you.]

How can you expect to have a fair hearing in the Senate where so many of his co-conspirator-traitors are on the Jury??

The legend on the sippy-cup reminds me of the scene in The Polar Express where the last few elves on the Naughty-Nice detail are suddenly startled by a loud alarm horn and the flickering image of a little boy repeating “I didn’t do it! I didn’t do it! I didn’t do it.”

The alt-right will continue exist and foment sedition and hate regardless of what happens to former president Trump.

Last time I took a math class, that leaves the Republicans with 60-70% of their party still sane and intact, and probably looking for some way to reclaim respectability. Somebody needs to stand up for the actual conservatives that haven’t bought into the insanity, but still voted Republican because they did believe in what they were supposed to stand for. I would welcome a conservative party that could actually compete with the liberals without lying. That hasn’t happened in the entire time I have been politically aware, roughly 50 years. I don’t agree with a lot of liberal ideas- abortion tops the list, and would be interested in hearing the views of an HONEST conservative party. I have never had that option and once I understand that I am being lied to, even if the person lying seems to believe what he is saying—- actually even more so if he seems to actually believe it, because that’s nuts, so I have always voted Democratic. An honest option might be nice.

I thought Trump and his cult claimed he won the election and is still president(in their hearts) so he can be put on trial. But his boot lickers say he can’t be put on trial because he’s not president anymore. I’m confused? Oh well, at least the sippy cup lives on.
