Shouldn’t you actually WAIT to see WHAT Biden does before you condemn it? After all, Trump claimed to be one of the most progressive presidents ever AND actually promoted progressive policies: The First Step Act, renegotiating NAFTA, investing in HBCUs, accelerating generic drug approvals, and the Abraham Accords.
Trump’s progressive initiatives paled in the light of all of Trump’s other failures and short-comings as president. Let’s cheer/condemn actual actions.
Ramirez continues with his nonsensical attack on progress. I guess if it were left to Ramirez, we’d all be living in unheated caves and eating whatever happened to die nearby.
All that red Mikey? Still suggesting Communism? Of course you are. Have a look at coal. The usage of coal is in steady decline. But Vinneth Bajaj did acknowledge coal’s shrinking contribution to global power generation. “At present, 67 percent and 75 percent of the electricity in China and India is generated from coal. However, both counties have environmental commitments to reduce carbon emissions and have targeted to reduce these shares to 58.5 percent and 50 percent by 2030, respectively.” And with coal’s usage so heavily concentrated towards the power sector, its outlook rests on the level of electricity demand. But with low-carbon generation substitutes such as hydro, wind, solar and nuclear power now proving to be increasingly more cost-effective substitutes, it seems unlikely that coal will make a meaningful or sustained rebound in the coming years.
So a mythical persona who freely distributes gifts of all sorts to people around the world is going to give coal to progressives?
Kind of a really, really dumb logic there. Santa, and the entire idea of gift giving at Christmas is progressive, not conservative. You know, that distribute wealth to the many, not just the few, kind of thing.

Coal doesn’t need to be banned, it’s dying on its own.

Ramirez longs for the good old days. You know. When air was visible and rivers burned.

If he bans coal, what will Moscow Mitch have to put in American’s stockings?

Good, an advanced civilization would work on solar and wind power.
Coal is a huge polluter and full of green house gasses, it should be abandoned.
But back ward republicans would rather pollute the world than lose a dollar.

Oh, I get it. Trump brought back coal by ordering the mines to open.
Conservative mine owners screamed that government has no place in the free market and can’t tell them what to do.
Those that did open hired no workers as mechanization was much less expensive.
And the coal they mined is piled up in mountains because no one will buy it as natural gas is much cheaper, easier to use, and causes less pollution.
But it’s all Joe Biden’s fault.
