It would be nice for the CDC to address whether they think the new strain will still be preventable by the current vaccines.

I did read several days ago that the experts say that vaccines do prevent the new strain but this thing is changing so fast that the vaccine may become ineffective. The flu vaccine changes every year and I believe Covid is closely related.

The new strain of the virus is very likely already here. Having said that, I would think it prudent to redouble prevention efforts ahead of the vaccine. Had we done that back in March, we would already be in much better position to handle the inevitable mutations.

Leave it to the orange mistake and his gang of rapacious stumble-bums to NOT address the issue of a much more infectious strain.
