It wasn’t that long ago you didn’t have elevators in some multi-story buildings. Made it very difficult for the elderly and handicapped.

Thank Senator Bob Dole for changing that with the Americans with Disabilities Act. And he should know, given his war wound.

Motive, You have been in Europe. You would noted the advances in handicap assistance for mobility. When one man lends a hand to another he also helps himself.

It must be so awful for Bush, to see that so many people are finally going to get the help that he denied them.

And let us not forget that Nancy Reagan strongly supported this research…hardly an icon of liberalism!

Talk to Nancy Reagan on where she stands on stem cell research. Also if you carried the “pro-life” agenda to it’s basics, it would deny any type of birth control, except the rhythm method or abstinence.

IrishEddie, allow me to remind you that as a Catholic, d@mnation is determined by God, not man. Judge not, lest you be judged.

motiv, Eddie has assumed par with the almighty for quiet a while now. And I don’t say that to be facetious. Just check some of his posts on the comic strip side.

Eddie, embryos are not living human beings. These will never be human beings. The end. It is not murder. However, to stand in the way of research that is showing promising results (and like many things, research often takes many years to yield the results we seek), is sinful.

Eddie, quit lying so much. There has never been an embryo diverted to stem cell research that would otherwise have grown into a human.

    Never.

And I love how you claim no cures have been made after eight years of Bush holding us back. Gee, think there might be a cause-and-effect there?

    Idiot.

This is more of a right to life issue then it is scientific…there are as many scientist that say they can get the same results from human skin and placentas as do the one’s who want human embryos destroyed

I’ll respect a pro-lifer opinion when I see them also picketing, campaigning to save the lives of discarded embryos from invitro fertilization.

Haven’t seen that yet at all so my take is most of their opinions are only so much hooie.

IEOH, a few years earlier I would have been on your side, but since 2005, I know personally a guy, a really sportive guy, who is now paraplegic after a hockey accident. I was there when he was injuried.

I still feel kinda bad about the whole thing but I just can’t stay there in front of that guy, his former teamates and his family and just say; “sorry, we have the technology to make you walk again but we won’t use it”. I just can’t do it.

If I ever go to Hell for it, it will be out of compassion.

Do you know (personally, I mean) someone who is paraplegic, IEOH?

IrishEddieOHara, you not only ignored my post to you, but you succeeded in proving your ignorance.

NO embryos are killed for stem cell research. NONE. You can lie until you’re burning in hell, but it won’t change the fact that NONE are killed.

Keep lying, though. You do know what happens to all liars, according to your Bible, right?

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Eddie, the USA is not a theocracy. It permits freedom to dissent from one point of view.

IrishEddieOHara, what your church says has less than zero influence on me.

And there’s no “if” about you going to hell. You’re a liar, and your bible clearly states that all liars go to hell.

    Enjoy it.
