At one time in my multifaceted education I was a Physics major. Never occured to me to apply Quantum Mechanics to marriage, but JJ handles it beautifully.

Oh, no — how it really works is, they both lie awake all night listening to the other one snoring…

Seeing first panel, and being married, I just thought they had taco bell for dinner, and gassed each other.

Ranks right up there with finishing each others sentences. Marriage.

None of that here. 98% of the time, my wife is out within 30 secs. Me, 30 minutes if I’m lucky. (Please spare me the sleep hygiene bs)

Or another way to look at it is “It all depends on something spooky!” And they do look spooked in panel 1.

Keep in mind that Janis has basically “lost that lovin’ feeling”. She has very little interest in intimacy any more. Sex has become “f&^k you” as they pass in the hallway.

I don’t get it either. Then again I thought that the volcano the other kid made in 6th grade was all the science I needed. Second level of science for me was the high school kid who demonstrated the liter of soda blowing up the mailbox.

Now my wife goes to sleep listening to her iPad earbuds so she doesn’t hear me snore.

I’m interested in Arlo’s String Theory as it applies to the entanglement of flimsy nighties… ☺

I wonder if it’s the same for long-distance relationships. During phone sex, absolutely, but when the phones are off?

This probably explains why my husband and I both had trouble getting to sleep last night. I don’t think the comic has anything to do with sex, as some implied. :)

My interpretation is that they just had great sex, and that was both their reaction.

Wow! There must be a lot of people not having sex if they have to get it vicariously through Arlo and Janis.

They are both asleep and awake in an undefined state until someone turns on the light.

Quantum entanglement in physics related to the expected measurement behavior of two linked particles. The way Arlo and Janis are laying in each panel represents the tossing and turning of a couple going to sleep. It also is an allegory about their positions as observed at different times.

    Very esoteric. 8^ )

At least this strip had some sophistication to it, unlike any of the arcs with “Gene and family”.
